Captain Tom’s Seafood and Oyster Bar

February 5, 2011

December 6, 2010 |  I finally made the trek out to Captain Tom’s Seafood and Oyster Bar (yelp) after hearing great things about this place for years!  The first thing I noticed is that the restaurant is shaped like a boat!  We seated ourselves at the outer bar that lined the perimeter of the restaurant– there weren’t any actual individual tables.  First, we ordered Michelada’s.  If you’ve never had one before, think of it as the beer version of a Bloody Mary.

Between the 4 of us, we shared a gumbo, 2 dozen oysters, hush puppies, stuffed jalapenos, and a fried flounder!  It was a lot of food but it was awesome!

Besides the michelada, the gumbo and oysters were the most memorable– I’d definitely order those again!   I like fried foods, but not too often and in small quantities.

We were pretty stuffed by the time we were finished.  I’ll definitely be back!!
